At San Damiano College, Teaching for Thinking reflects our commitment to forming young people who are thoughtful, reflective and engaged learners. Drawing on the research‑informed Teaching for Thinking pedagogy developed through The University of Queensland, this approach places purposeful thinking, inquiry and deep understanding at the heart of teaching and learning.
Through Teaching for Thinking, learning experiences are intentionally designed to develop students’ ability to question, reason, analyse, problem‑solve and reflect on their thinking. Students are encouraged to think deeply, make connections across learning areas and engage respectfully with diverse perspectives, supporting both academic growth and personal formation.
In today’s world, students need more than knowledge alone. They require the skills and dispositions to navigate complexity, collaborate with others and adapt to change.
